Message from our director.

Some years ago when serving my country in the U.S. Army, I gained a wonderful perspective. On the side of the headquarters’ building of my unit were written the words “Mission First, People Always.” Those words have rooted and grown in me over time. They apply everyday at the Housing Authority of the City of Madera (HACM). Here at HACM our mission is all about people. Without the basic human need of housing met in the citizens of a community, how then will people participate in education, work, recreation or community service.

In addition, as a community partner, HACM serves as a vital economic engine for Madera. Since formation in 1968, HACM has assisted thousands of Maderans in need of aff ordable housing. Along the way, we have developed countless positive relationships with local private and public community partners. While there have been many accomplishments, there is much work to be done. We look forward to serving Madera now and into the future.
